The Work

“A process so ego-stripping that it feels unseemly to witness, The Work is enlightening yet also punishing.” — New York Times

Released in 2017, The Work, a documentary, details the methods and experiences of Inside Circle, one of the organizations that inspired our work in All Kings.

Set in Folsom Prison, the film follows three men from the outside as they participate in a four-day transformative retreat with the men inside. The raw and revealing process that the incarcerated men undertake force the free men to see themselves and the prisoners in unexpected ways. An international phenomenon, the film won the Grand Jury Prize at South-by-Southwest Film Festival.
