Troy Harden, PhD, LCSW

Dr. Troy Harden is a scholar, clinician, and community leader with over 25 years of experience advancing racial equity, healing, and social justice. He currently serves as Director of the Race and Ethnic Studies Institute at Texas A&M University and previously developed and led the Master of Social Work program at Northeastern Illinois University.

Dr. Harden’s research and practice center on community violence, racial trauma, and culturally grounded interventions. In Chicago, he has worked with Communities Partnering for Peace (CP4P) and serves as lead researcher for the Department of Justice’s Community-Based Crime Reduction Grant in Englewood. He also chairs the board of the Chicago Torture Justice Center, which supports survivors of police violence.

A trusted consultant to civic and nonprofit institutions, Dr. Harden bridges academia and community practice to promote healing and transformation.
